The Aug. 8 extra-inning win in Arizona ended a seven-game losing streak. After a loss the next day, Los Angeles answered by sweeping Kansas City from Aug. 10–12 and reached 73–48. Freeman delivered the opening-game turn, Muncy walked off the middle game in the 10th, and Ohtani and Betts homered in Wednesday’s 4–2 finale.
